- Density: 2.45 - 2.55 g/cm³ (95% - 98% of theoretical density).
- Hardness: Microhardness (HV) of 28 - 35 GPa, Mohs hardness ~9.5, making it an extremely excellent wear-resistant material.
- Flexural Strength: 300 - 450 MPa. Strength values are significantly influenced by defects and grain size.
- Fracture Toughness: 2.5 - 3.5 MPa·m¹/². Relatively low, which is the primary manifestation of its brittleness.
- Elastic Modulus: 400 - 450 GPa, indicating extremely high rigidity.
- Poisson's Ratio: Approximately 0.17 - 0.20.
Thermal Properties:
- Melting Point: Extremely high, approximately 2450°C.
