Alumina Crucible

Alumina Crucible

An alumina crucible is a specialized container made from alumina ceramic.It is highly valued for its exceptional heat resistance, capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures without melting or deforming. This makes it ideal for various high-temperature processes such as melting metals, conducting chemical reactions at elevated temperatures, and performing material analysis in laboratories.

Description

Products Description

Alumina ceramic crucibles (often referred to simply as alumina crucibles) specifically denote ceramic crucibles composed primarily of alumina (Al₂O₃), which is the chemical compound for aluminum oxide. This alumina ceramic material, known for its high density of alumina, is a cornerstone of advanced technical ceramics. When the alumina purity is exceptionally high (e.g., Al₂O₃ > 99%, often termed 99 alumina or high purity alumina), the material approaches the properties of corundum, hence it is also commonly called a "corundum crucible." Alumina crucibles and corundum crucibles are terms often used interchangeably for these high-purity products.

Product Application

  • Laboratory & Analysis: Used in TGA/DSC. Related alumina ceramic discs, alumina wafers, and alumina tubes are also key.
  • Material Synthesis & Semiconductor: Used for sintering and crystal growth. The industry relies on alumina substrates, alumina boats, alumina wafers, and custom alumina ceramic components like alumina ceramic rods and alumina bars.
  • Industrial Processing: For metal smelting and high-temperature furnaces. This extends to alumina lining bricks, alumina tubes for furnace, and custom alumina blocks.
  • General Engineering Components: The properties of aluminum oxide ceramic lend themselves to diverse alumina ceramic products such as alumina plates, alumina sheets (or al2o3 sheets), alumina rings, alumina washers, alumina ceramic rods, and alumina tubes (or al2o3 tubes). Machining alumina ceramic parts like alumina discs or alumina blocks requires specialized techniques often summarized in guides on how to machine alumina ceramic.

Our advantages

  1. High Strength and Hardness: Alumina ceramics inherently possess high mechanical strength, making them suitable for demanding applications like ceramic armor plates and ceramic ballistic plates.
  2. Exceptional High-Temperature Resistance: Pure aluminum oxide has a melting point of approximately 2050°C, enabling high-purity alumina crucibles to operate continuously at 1600°C.
  3. Superior Chemical Stability: Excellent corrosion resistance against acids, alkalis, and various molten substances.
  4. Good Thermal Stability & Electrical Insulation: Low thermal expansion coefficient allows withstanding rapid temperature changes, while its nature as an electrical insulator makes alumina insulator components vital in electronics.

quality control

We adhere strictly to the ISO 9001 quality management system to ensure consistent product quality:

  • 100% inspection of raw materials to guarantee quality from the source;
  • Utilization of advanced hot-pressing production lines for precise and reliable processes;
  • In-house performance testing, including density, hardness, and microstructure analysis;
  • Possession of third-party authoritative certifications (such as SGS, CE, ROHS, available upon request).
